Yeah, now I'm getting more used to it the biggest difference is in the precision adjustments when landing, flying form, or lining up a target with something manual like the laser missiles on the Frogfoot A model, I don't think I'd ever go back either. I do think £250 is steep though, it hasn't improved my game by that much, it's more a QOL upgrade rather than something genuinely necessary imo

@@Bullet4MyEnemy yeah i saw u in a match with the viper , i think it was afghanistan, imo the amraams are an absolute dream to use long range in warthunder, afghanistan might not be the best map but it still works

@@Kumyar Honestly if WarThunder wasn't built around grinding to unlock things it would likely be a direct competitor to DCS, but the nature of the grind forcing you to play a narrow number of ways so that Gaijin can control the economy around it more easily means it will never appeal to people in the same way. If it had DCS's mission editor the potential would be literally untapped. It's a shame because the amount of detail they put into the simulation is impressive, it's just largely wasted on their audience. Which makes it all the more ironic that their detractors refuse to believe it's even the case and defend DCS despite it really not simulating anything at all, more just emulating likely outcomes based around RNG.

@@Bullet4MyEnemy To be fair here, both games are RNG lottery. DCS more so then WT. How ironic. What WT has over DCS is more surface level simulations. DCS either simulates stuff as close to reality as possible (often being 3rd party modules) or straight up relies on RNG to is made to performe somewhat like the real stuff. Fundemental flaw of WT is the dreaded balancing. If you have to alter how a plane and its ordnance performs to give its opposition a chance, then its not a "simulation". WT is a great game if you stay in the shallow waters. The deeper you look into it, the more flaws you see. WT a great FC3 version of DCS.

I don't get it! My mic refuses to pick me up at times, but more than happy to pick up the keyboard lol I think I've since tweaked the sound gate to stop it from happening though, you'll be pleased to know 😆

Hope the transition goes smoothly, and wondering if HB have any plans to add features none of us could imagine, to enhance the experience. They added a lot to the F-4 I didn’t think was possible so who knows what they might be able to change server side.

@@Bullet4MyEnemy Yeah, I've watched some videos about it. Seems a lot of fun for 30 bucks. I'm not a shooter guy normally but the cold war setting and the gameplay look interesting.

I do actually have Squad (and Post Scriptum), but it’s not as easy to just play without using comms, it’s a bit more hardcore and less accessible, and I honestly kinda hate the gunplay. Recoil seems absurdly overblown and the crosshair waves around to the point I couldn’t hit any member of a squad crossing open water before they were able to suppress me to the point I couldn’t retaliate, frustration was my main experience. In HLL I feel like my shots actually go where I aim them, the recoil looks appropriate for the weapon and the more casual atmosphere suit me better. It feels like the middleman between Battlefield and Squad.

It’s called something like “high lift devices” and I think there’s confusingly 3 inputs for it and they aren’t called anything logical like up or down, if I remember to check next time I’m on then I’ll come back and update it. I have it on a 2 way switch, with forced up and normal bound as each position. If you try it on the ground with the flaps manually deployed you can check it works properly; the in-cockpit switch is by the throttle with a black and yellow “hazard” style backing, hovering the mouse over it might help perfect the wording of the bind’s name.

It does have them, and I guess someone could drop them at altitude if they were trying to ditch weigh to run away; but generally those type of bombs are designed for super low level drops, with the chute being used to give the plane time to escape the blast zone.

@@Bullet4MyEnemy Yeah yeah, I was wondering, but their silhouette matches them almost perfectly, but tbf if they jettisoned them I dont think the parachutes would've deployed. (I also love your videos, your my favourite DCS youtuber currently, I love your commentary informative style and long form format, keep it up, you almost single handedly inspired me to buy a HOTAS, and read the F/A 18 User manual in preperation but alas I settled on Vtol Vr)

Yeah, MTI was added a while ago, but I haven’t flown the F1 in WT since before that. In DCS the F1’s radar modelling is super basic, WarThunder actually does a much better job - it should be updated eventually but the dev team have promised 4 variants of the F1 so they’re probably working on the final one before making the radar simulation better. Not the best way to prioritise for multiplayer, but all the single player people are probably happy with an over performing radar for the time being..
